The industry has drastically changed in the past few years. Among those changes has been the fall from grace of dancehall factions as the industry has been flooded with hip hop/trap group, eclipsing the once formidable forces such as Archaida Universe and Mabilinganya Empire.
The rise of trap facttions has seen one group rise to prominence in the first half of the year, and that group is G Lynix Music Group.
A 10 member group, G Lynix Music has grabbef the spotlight by the scarf of the neck and hasn’t wavered in it’s pursuit of industry glory.
My first encounter with the group was back in 2019 when they released a song titled “Sooner (feat. Travetta & Picial).” The song went on to spend 2 weeks on the Born & Bred top 10 chart and this was just the beginning of what what was to come.
A record smashing stint followed with their high profile song “Zero Sum Game (perfomed by Neither & Scar).” Debuting on #1 on the Born & Bred chart, going on the spend 5 weeks more on the spot, becoming the only song to spend 6 consecutive weeks on the position it debuted on. The song went on to smash the most votes record (before being displaced), and also remains joint holder for the record of the longest stay on the chart on the show.
It was clear from the get go that the group was not in it for games, they meant business.
Today, the group has released it’s recent single Titled “Outside (Prod by Henwood)” as they plan on keeping the momentum going.
The question now is; Will they carry on with the winds in their sail, or will they crumble with the pressure of the industry?
Let’s wait and see.

Title: Show Love
Produced By: Ace
Hiphop music is all about appreciation and criticism. In this song of almost 03:08 minutes, performed by One Time Entertainment (O.T.E)”Show Love” came up with a message to their fans in a sad tone according to the lyrics.
Produced by their in-house producer of all time Ace. The song centered on how fans or music lovers show fake love to artists. This hypocrite is around in music scene where people show love when you are dead or not doing music anymore due to some issues like financial problems.
The hook done by Theme expresses unspoken feelings artists have in their minds, because fans throw shades when they are down saying anatha!!!
“Show Love be my nova-king, Show love you’re my everything,You know if am down,You are the one to blame”…
In first verse Theme plead for motivation and support because artist face alot of woes to bake music. From financial situation, mentally and other things, things that can lead them down. Last bars of his verse he explained how fans react to when artist is no more “They recognize you after you stop breathing, Sounds familiar that’s too cliche”
In verse two Crimson North pattern his style on how he do music for love. He focuses on his dream that oneday music will bring a payslips every month if they are selling their materials. “My dream is big wanna live up in hills, Cuddle a lick I know my dreams will pay the bills”
Show Love is an anthem to all artists based on facts, on how fans treat musicians by putting them on social media statuses or looking for their music when they die. Not only that leaking their music projects like Albums, Extended Playlists, Mixtapes and other collections when they are suppose to buy.
The beat selection, lyrics and flow made heartbeat when you’re listening. O.T.E Got The Place On LockDown as their tagline in every track gives you hope on what is coming up from the booth.

We must begin loving ourselves as a nation to appreciate our art. Patriotism is key to all we want to see in Malawian art, therefore government has a duty to inculcate if not promote patriotism. Government should start in schools through history and civics: our history that is”
